Twirly Tuesdays are back y’all!!! Whoop whoop! So for those who aren’t familiar with Twirly Tuesday, this is when I post a blog written by someone other than myself on the blog and today my very own sissy decided to write a piece for my blog!! Yaaaay 👏🏾👏🏾👏🏾👏🏾.
You guys, can you p-leeeease encourage her to start her own blog because she is a really good writer! Me, I just write like I speak, but she constructs her words people. This blog post alone for her was like writing a masterpiece that was going to be published to get on the New York bestseller list! So here it goes people. Enjoy 😊
“Purple Twirl means different things to different people. To a purple twirl bride, it perhaps means more time to breathe, among other things. To a Purple Twirl groom, I guess it means you get to marry a breathing bride. To the parents of the bride, it means watching with giddy excitement as your daughter’s dream wedding is crafted to her taste with a flourish; and to the parents of the groom, it means experiencing your baby boy’s unabated emotion as he beams with joy on the big day.
To me, Purple Twirl is the great escape – it’s a jarring change in setting that a person needs once in awhile. As a recent medical graduate and young doctor, the glamour of the Purple Twirl world is a welcome relief from the often morbid theme of hospital life.
On a day with Purple Twirl, when I volunteer to assist the ever-creative mind of Miss Abokuma Ellis, the perks of being in the world of twirl are not lost on me.
Switching out my hospital scrubs for a little black dress is obviously just the beginning.
The real party begins when I get the opportunity to play my part in the orchestra of vibrant colors and luxurious set-ups, and in the seamless flow of events. Witnessing it all coming together in such exquisite harmony is often a captivating experience. In my – ahem – professional opinion, good music, twinkling lights and a room full of happy people are just what the doctor ordered to lift the spirits!
The highlights of the day are often riddled with oohh’s, and aahh’s and aaww’s, because what is more beautiful than the celebration of love? And on a day with Purple Twirl, there’s plenty of love and celebration to go round. Whether it’s between mother and son, father and daughter or, of course, man and wife, every love story has its moment to glow in the spotlight. Even the spotlight-loving Aunty Dordordortidor will have her chance to shine.
At the end of the day, with hearts filled with mirth and bellies filled with gourmet masterpieces, our Purple Twirl guests begin to taper out back into the world once more. To many of them, Purple Twirl meant dancing all night to the tune of a seasoned DJ, laughing through the witticisms of an entertaining MC and marveling at the sensational wonderland created by an innovative team of designers…not to mention the awesome swag bags which could make a hoarder out of literally anyone.
A day with purple twirl is one I always look back to with fondness. The delightful colors and tastes and fragrances of that day tend to make an impression that is quite difficult to forget. So, naturally, it’ll always be a pleasure for me to be a part of the team that helps you discover what Purple Twirl could mean to you.”
