5 Ways To Plan Your Wedding Virtually

Hi Twirlies! Now, just because this Covid situation has thoughts all muddled about your wedding plans doesn’t mean the party must stop!  Whether you’ve had to postpone your wedding, considering postponing or going ahead with your date while making some changes to your original plan, there’s still quite a lot you can do towards your big day from the comfort of your favourite spot at home!

You have plenty of time now to engage with your wedding vendors to showing plenty love to your close family and bridal party as well as building a majorly impressive wedding inspiration portfolio for each major vendor category.  Ready to do this?  Let’s go!

1. Build your wedding playlist – Make a list of all your favourite songs that your DJ should definitely have on his playlist for your wedding.  The songs may not all come at one sitting, you can build the list over a period and even share with your partner or favourite people to add on.  You can also have a no-play list for the DJ to include songs you DO NOT want played at your event. If you definitely want some line dancing at your wedding, remember to make that note for your DJ. You may include notes on the genres of music you like and perhaps the scope of guests you’ll have on the day, i.e.. 40% guests above 60? 20% of guests coming in from Nigeria or the US?  If he has an idea, he’ll incorporate genres they’ll appreciate and everyone’s a happy chappy!

2. Build your wedding registry – What’s more fun than going on a virtual shopping spree without having to spend a single pesewa?!  We’d recommend Always Ever After and Wishes Wedding Registry .  They both have an amazing variety of gift items from tonnes of suppliers around the country and even offer an option for a cash fund which you could save towards your honeymoon? that trust fund? Whatever you want! Get to shopping!

3. Plan your honeymoon – Yes, this is not the time to travel, especially out of the country, but this is definitely the time to snatch those amazing deals the airlines are offering at this time!!  To be safe, schedule your honeymoon travels for sometime next year and be sure to read all the fine print and keep all booking docs before confirming.  Also try, as much as possible, to book flights with flexible cancelation policies.  You can even add a few honeymoon must-haves to your wedding registry!(Hint hint)

4. Build your wedding website – A wedding website could be one of the easiest ways to communicate with your wedding guests especially during these Covid times.  If your date changes, a click of a button can send a message to all guests on your list.  You can share wedding itinerary info, directions, RSVP details and share your love story and photos with your favourite people.  Highly recommended on our wedding website vendor list is Ghanaian brand Always Ever After.   Other wedding resources we’ve had experience with are Zola, Wedsites and AppyCouple.

5. Curate your own Pinterest inspiration board – With time on your hands and the internet being mans best friend during this time, maximise  it by creating Pinterest boards for your big day.  Endless inspiration possibilities on there from your hair, makeup, decor, bouquets, bridal gowns, bridesmaids gowns, wedding cake, gift favours, grooms attire, bridesmaids gifts.  Whatever you can think of.  Build your wedding on Pinterest.  Your boards would be very helpful when you’re finally able to meet up with some key vendors including your wedding decorator, baker, bridal gown designer, etc.

We hope these tips are super helpful and will keep you planning towards your wedding day!
